Canine Hoopers

Would you like to learn a new sport with your dog?

During your Hoopers course you will learn about this fun sport and develop your dog's ability to go through hoops, tunnels and around barrels and build up to completing short courses with distance handling. As Hoopers is an all-ability, low-impact sport it is suitable for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and abilities. As the goal is to not have to run the course with your dog, it's also suitable for all handlers.

The beginners course is suitable for mixed abilities (CHW Level 1 - 3) and will be tailored to ensure you are working at the level appropriate to your dog. Basic obedience is an advantage but not neccessary to enjoy the course. Classes are fun and non-competitive.

We also offer a one-off Hoopers workshop and a Hooping Hounds training club.

Your Hoopers course will include;
  • Hoops - learning to choose to travel through a series of hoops
  • Barrels - learning to go 'around' barrels from varying distances
  • Tunnels - learning to travel through tunnels
  • Learning to combine 2 or 3 obstacles
  • Develop distance handling skills
  • Develop core skills
  • Start line/wait
  • Completing short courses
Classes are relaxed, informative and fun. A maximum of 6 dogs per class we ensure dogs and owners have space and time to progress.

Location
Our classes are held outside at our private training field at Moat Farm in Stoke Mandeville.

Please Note, group courses are suitable for dogs who are comfortable in the presence of other dogs, if your dog is human or dog reactive a series of 121 training would be more suitable. Please contact us prior to booking if you are unsure if this course is suitable for you.

What fun Cable and I had at hoopers over our weekly course. As a cockapoo Cable is full of energy and enjoys doing his parkour but this gave us a different challenge. From week 1 Tash was brilliant in assisting us in the steps that we needed to build Cable's skillset - which led us to complete a Hoopers course in the final week. Each week we added to the work we had done the previous week and the difference I saw with Cable from the first to the last week was awesome.

Thank you Tash for all the help along the way!

If you are after a tired and happy pooch at the end of the course - Hoopers is for you!

Rosie loved this class! She is a very tiny and quite nervous terrier and the hoopers course gave her a job to do and some high energy exercise for an hour. It might look quite simple but really helped to focus her energy, perfect her wait commands and generally made her a very happy little dog indeed.
