Pawsome Puppies

You will have the opportunity to train your puppy in a friendly, structured environment whilst making new friends and helping your puppy to develop self-confidence. With a maximum of 6 puppies per class we ensure you get the right support for you and your puppy.

Puppies must be under 18 weeks old at the start of class -  if your puppy is 18+ weeks please see information on our Life Skills course.

Pawsome Puppies includes;
  • 8 x 60minute in-person group classes at our training venue. Each class is supported by weekly handouts direct to your inbox.
  • Access to Ready Steady Puppy  (rrp £75) your online pre-class course with approx 5hours of videos. Available upon booking to start your training straight away. This includes activities to help you prepare for your puppy's arrival, prepare you for class and cover common puppy topics.
  • 4 x 30 minute Puppy Socials (rrp £60) in addition to your weekly class. Socials are held every fortnight at our training venue. Puppies can attend after completing their third in-person session and up to 8months old. Pre-booking essential.
Your Pawsome Puppies course package will cover;
  • Puppy Problems - nipping, chewing, barking, toilet training and how to overcome these in an effective way
  • Mental Stimulation - the importance of brain games, enrichment and tricks
  • Body language - understanding doggy language and how they communicate with other dogs and humans
  • Training - the foundations of training skills including focus, life skills, sit, play, recall, walking on the lead.
  • Play Skills - learning how to interact with your puppy through play
  • A safe environment for puppies and owners to grow in confidence
  • Social Skills - how to politely interact and ignore other dogs and humans
  • Interactions - an opportunity to practise polite interaction skills with other puppies.

Sessions are relaxed, fun and informative. Your trainer will teach you how to train your dog using modern science based training techniques whilst providing support and advice on general puppy problems.

Please note that the first two weeks of our course are 'settling in' weeks with relaxed activities to build your puppies confidence. Week one is primarily theory based and puppy interactions commence from week three onwards.

In-person sessions run for 8 weeks with occasional break weeks. We have regular intakes so your puppy won't have to wait to long before a class is available.

Class Location
Our classes are held outside at our private training venue at Moat Farm in Stoke Mandeville.
Classes are held outside all year round, except for in extreme weather conditions where we move to our indoor training barn.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Pawsome Puppy class!
Each class is different and a new skill is learnt every week with refresher sessions at the beginning of each class.
Attending the course gives you and your puppy a routine and significantly improves your relationship with your 4-legged friend.
We noticed a huge different week on week, and have continued in our training with Potter Paws many months after!

The Pawsome Puppies course (and the following Puppy Progress course) have been incredible for me and my lovely pup. I was very anxious when I started about having a puppy as a disabled person, but the Potter Paws team have been incredible! Every question is answered with so much kindness and patience, and the classes are clear and well planned. The time given to clients and dogs is incredible and the team will always go over and above to help you. This class really set us up for our life with Ariadne :)

So, so glad that a friend recommended Pawsome Puppies.
We learnt an incredible amount during each session whilst having lots of fun bonding with our puppy and were able to put it all into practise straight away.
The weekly information sheets and vast library of blogs and videos we had access to through the course were amazing, covering topics we hadn't even considered.
Debbie and Tash are so welcoming and knowledgeable I've always felt able to ask them questions.
We are currently doing the Puppy Progress class which is a natural progression and are looking forward to trying out other Potter Paws classes in the future.

Nancy and I loved attending pawsome puppies! Nancy was nervous around other dogs when I started socialising her so wanted to get some help, I found Potter Paws from other 5* reviews so enrolled onto the course, and it's been the best investment for me and Nancy. The class was small enough for each puppy & owner to have individual feedback and help, but big enough for the puppies to interact and get used to being around other dogs. Nancy is a different dog since beginning the course! We can't wait to come back for some other fun courses, thank you Tash & Debbie!!!!

We absolutely loved this course! Being first time owners of a Labrador, we wanted to make sure we tried our very best with his training, starting from the get go. Pawsome Puppies was an extremely helpful course to introduce our puppy to some of the basic life learnings and some little tricks on the side. Debbie was fantastic - always taking the time to help if she could see we were struggling. Debbie gave us some really helpful tips on trying to get our dogs attention (he forgets we exist when he’s outside) and even answered questions we had unrelated to course training. It was beneficial that our pup was able to be around other dogs and people at a young age as our puppy has always been reactive/vocal, so it helped socialise him to an extent. We will definitely be looking to book another course soon.

This Pawsome Puppies course has been an invaluable start to our life with our puppy. Debbie is a wealth of information about how dogs tick, it’s fascinating just listening to her, she’s so chilled and very open to all pet owner and training questions, no matter how daft you may feel they are! The classes enabled us gain an understanding as to how we’d like to train our puppy to fit in with our life, Debbie never promised dog training would be easy, but with her encouragement and our hard work, so far so good, the training continues to be a work in progress and I’ve already booked onto the next course with Maya!

Millie and I attended this course and we had lots of fun as well as learning loads. The classes were relaxed and small enough to be easily controlled and not too overwhelming for a highly strung pup like mine. Tash was lovely with the pups and very encouraging during all the tasks we were asked to do. It was a really good start for Millie and I hope to do a follow up course sometime soon.

We have just completed the Pawsome Puppies course with Poppy. We all thoroughly enjoyed the course and Tash was amazing! It was nice to be able to speak to other puppy owners and ask any questions we had every week. The whole course was invaluable but in particular the last class was great fun and poppy was over the moon to be able to make friends with everyone (humans and dogs) at the end! Would definitely recommend to others, thank you so much for all your guidance and support Tash!

Training with Potter Paws is a fantastic experience. The Pawsome Puppies course is a must for new puppies. Debbie and Tash are lovely down to earth people, with a wealth of knowledge and have given us practical solutions to our puppy problems. Our Labrador puppy Tilly is quite a handful and very excitable so we have found the course invaluable. It is really about learning yourself how to teach your puppy what you want and expect from them. We are now doing the Life Skills course and look forward to doing other courses too as Tilly gets older.

Had a great 8 weeks in the summer attending Pawsome Puppies with my 12 week old Frenchie, Remy. Lessons were relaxed and fun and allowed for some socialisation between pups as well as sharing of advice and concerns between us owners! Made me realize we all have some bad puppy days! Great advice given on what harness to use, and I used Poterpaws hiring service, which was great as Remy soon grew out of her first one. Would recommend to anyone who wants some useful hints and tips on those first few crazy puppy months !!

Really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot. We were always the last to leave as my puppy never wanted to go home (so I probably have to work on recall). Learning is fun and structured. Without the classes I don't think we would have mastered half of what we can do now and it's provided a solid base to work from. It has also helped how my puppy and I work together as a team. The homework and the handouts are really valuable to continue with training outside of classes and to act as a refresher. I would highly recommend the class, and we will be back for more training.

Potter paws is fantastic, Debbie provides so much insight into the way the dog is “thinking” and to understand the body language and how to make your puppy tick, which then really supports with the bonding and ultimately training to a high standard. I’ve done puppy training elsewhere with my first dog and was very basic and no “science” involved. Potter paws teaches you the importance of the mental stimulation and how this really benefits your dog, which isn’t an area which many focus on. I would highly recommend, you’re also put at ease, puppies are incredibly hard work, you don’t feel alone in this process and potter paws really supports with this to get the best results! I’ve booked my older dog onto the life skills course in July as I’m that impressed! Thank you again and I look forward to booking more courses to ensure my dog and puppy have a happy life and we do too!

We had our Puppy booked in for pawsome puppies at the beginning of the year. It was all online classes via zoom due to covid and it was excellent. It covered everything we wanted to for our new puppy and we still keep up with the skills we learnt from Tash. We can’t thank her enough for all the help received.
We will be looking to do another course hopefully towards the end of the year where we can interact our dog with others. I would highly recommend potter paws for all puppy/ dog training and needs.

I attended Pawsome Puppies classes with my little Amy from age 10 weeks back in December, as it's 20 years since I last had puppies.

We attended the first 3 sessions in person and the rest via zoom. I wasn't sure how or even if it would work via zoom, but it absolutely did. Tash was great - so knowledgeable and experienced, and I learned so much from her in the sessions, as well as feeling reassured by hearing from other puppy owners. Their zoom sessions on other general issues such as biting, were also a life-saver. Just knowing they are there and available to ask questions helps me feel reassured.

I would definitely recommend Potter Paws and look forward to attending more training in the future.

Thank you Debbie and Tash!

Pawsome Puppies was a brilliant introduction to training. We experienced both face-to-face classes and then, when lockdown 2 came along, zoom classes. I have to say although different, both types of class were equally as good! Fun and informative classes, personalised help if you need it and Hettie loved it. Having gone through puppy training a few times before, I can honestly say that Pawsome Puppies was by far the best. Now just to try and decide which awesome class to do next.....

We really enjoyed our puppy classes despite the majority of them being on zoom. I actually found it less stressful and meant that I could focus on our pup. The areas we covered were all helpful and it was great that we could talk about issues we were facing at the beginning of each session which ensured that the material was tailored appropriately. We are now building on the foundations in the puppy junior class which is an amazing follow on to to ensure we continue to head in the right direction. Thank you for all your help and advice.

Originally booked with Pawsome Pups before Xmas, as were the only classes being run that I could find still being 'physically' (socially distanced) run, and was a bit wary of the success of 'Zoom' classes. However, after 2 sessions, the country was plunged into lockdown and Zoom was the only way to go!
Only 3 pups in our class, so it was very personal training! The Zoom method works a lot better than I thought it would and with the homework given at the end of each class, I was motivated to work with Ralphie, our Bearded Collie pup, every week and able to give positive feedback on his progress at every class and discuss all the problems that crop up with most puppies! I thought that he would miss the 'socialisation' aspect of the physical classes, but there have been plenty of dogs and people out for their lockdown 'exercise' on Ralphie's walkies - he has probably met many more than he ever would have done had we been in our 'normal' world!
Highly recommend Potter Paws - a good introduction to training for your puppy. Have fun with your pups - they grow so fast!🐾🐾

After our 1-1 sessions with Debbie (which were brilliant, especially as we'd never had a puppy before and really needed some expert guidance!), we signed up for Pawsome Puppies and the classes have been so helpful. Debbie is a very knowledgeable teacher with a fun and common sense approach to training and has an answer to any question you can think of. There is no pressure at any class, and both my puppy and I really enjoy the sessions. My puppy Winston is now 19 weeks old and is a really contented little dog whose training is going well. We'll definitely be signing up to further courses with Potter Paws and highly recommend them.

Bert also realyl enjoyed the social side to the class and getting to meet other puppies. I completed the pawsome puppies classes with our Cockapoo puppy Leah very recently, and we both loved very minute of it, she ran to the field each week ! Both Debbie and Tash are very knowledgeable and approachable also having plenty of suggestions to help with any problem you may have. The chat sessions at the beginning of classes were insightful into what other issues everyone else was having. We joined up to our next class straight away as we didn't want to lose the good work we had done. Will also look at joining the sniffer classes after christmas.

We attended the Pawsome Puppies Classes with our Cockapoo and I would thoroughly recommend them. Debbie and Tash are so knowledgable and we learnt so much doing the course, with the chance to ask loads of questions I had as a first time puppy owner! The fact it was held in a field was lovely as it was easier to spread out and there was no embarrassment if the dogs needed the toilet! The classes weren’t pressurised and the dogs weren’t forced into socialising until they were ready to, and then it was done in a controlled way. I also recommend the harness hiring scheme that they offer - they fit beautifully and we are on our 4th size already so it’s saved us a lot of money. We will definitely do some more courses with Potter Paws in the future.

As Archie was our first dog as a couple, my husband and I knew we’d need a helping hand to ensure we were managing his behaviour and ensuring we had a great relationship. The Pawsome Puppies class was a great way to kick that off, covering all of the expected commands mixed in with a lot of unexpected activities, tips and takeaways. Debbie was always on hand to answer any question, is an incredibly patient and positive trainer, and makes the whole process a joy. The focus on positive reinforcement and understanding behaviour has ensured we’re able to build an incredible relationship with our puppy - something we’re continuing to develop via sniffer dog classes and I’m sure many more in the future too!

Bertie is the third dog I have taken to puppy training classes over the years, and Potterpaws is by far the best training class I have been to. We learnt loads from the training that is helping us to teach Bertie to know what behaviour we want from him and for him to be happy to perform whatever task it is we want him to do. We have learnt calm behaviour, sitting and being relaxed, recall, sit, lay down, stand, socialising with others and being confident with unusual things. We have also learnt that training is fun for Bertie and stimulates his brain too. Bertie has been our calmest, least destructive and best behaved puppy. I am sure this training class (and the chews Debbie sells!) has been largely responsible for us achieving that. It has given Bertie a great start and has given us a happy dog who the whole family can enjoy training/playing with. We will be back for further courses as he grows up!

I booked Potter Paws puppy training when I got my first puppy.. I have never owned a dog before so felt like training was a must especially with having such a stubborn breed! Kiko (my pup) absolutely loved Potter Paws! The layout was fab and was catered for all types of pups and personalities. The training was easy to follow and very personalised if needed! I've taken away so much from puppy training which otherwise I wouldn't have known therefore highly recommend training with Debbie!
