8 Reasons You and Your Dog Will LOVE The Potterings Secure Dog Field

Have you heard about or visited The Potterings yet?
The Potterings is our 2.2acre fenced dog walking field near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire with a variety of obstacles and challenges to explore.
A secure field provides a safe environment for you and your dog to 'paws and play' for some quality time together. And, with space to run free and explore our activities and relaxing spaces it’s more than just a dog walk!  We have set up a number of obstacles and interactive experiences that create a course around the field. You can either complete these in order or dip in and out at various points as your dog chooses.

Let’s discover why you and your dog will love The Potterings

1.Our fencing is 2 metres high with a 6 foot gate

There is a big demand for enclosed spaces where dogs can be allowed off lead. Reasons include training for reactivity, recall training or just somewhere to go for peace of mind and to relax without being hassled by other people or dogs.

2.Explore and sniff away in our Sensory Garden

We’ve created a sensory garden as a place to encourage peaceful, natural enjoyment. It's full of different smells, sounds, textures and even tastes to stimulate your dog's senses. You can encourage your dog to explore the area for as long as they wish.

Many herbs and flowers have beneficial properties that either provide nutrients or have a positive effect on your dog’s well-being.We’ve planted some wonderful smells including lavender, mint, thyme, rosemary, chamomile, lemonbalm and lots more.

3.Log walks, log pile and tyre jungle

You can encourage your dog to climb on and walk along the logs. This will help to develop their body awareness, balance and confidence.
You can encourage your dog to explore by hiding some treats or a toy in the tyre jungle  or log pile for your dog to find. Why not try some parkour too?!

4.Let your dog dig for Australia without digging up your garden!

We’ve created a digging pit so that your dog can dig to their heart's desire! You can hide a toy or large treat just under the surface to encourage them if needed. You can also get stuck in and show them how it's done.

5.Run, jumps & zoomies GALORE

As well as being able to let your dog zoomie all around the field you’ll also find various walks your dog can walk up and over and jumps to explore.  You can encourage your dog to jump over the jumps; begin with one and build up to all four and if the jumps are too tall (or your pup is not fully grown) try going under instead.

6.Become a Parkour master

There are areas that are amazing to practice your parkour skills. You can encourage your dog into position using a treat by their nose. Remember to only work within your dog's capabilities. If you've not done Parkour before check out our Parkour Taster workshops!

7.The Potterings Podium

Our very special Potterings Podium marks the end of The Potterings challenge and is a chance to give your dog a big WELL DONE for completing all the obstacles. Here you take a ‘winners’ photo and we’d love you to share it on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thepotterings.
