A Potter Paws Adventure - written by Biscuit (Cockapoo - aged 13months)

14/06/2019 - Dog Walking

My Pawrents just gave me kisses on the head and left the house telling me they’re off to work but will be back again later.  That means…it’s Monday!!  *wagging tail*

I absowoofly love Mondays because it means the Potter Paws crew are coming to get me to go on an adventure walk with my best pals!

My hoomans don’t need to walk me before they leave, because it won’t be long before my pals arrive for our epic adventure.  I perch on the sofa and keep my eyes peeled waiting for Sam or Debbie… then I spot the distinctive Potter Paws chariot at the window and boy do I get excited!

I spot Debbie coming up the path to get me!!!  I sit perfectly still while Debbie puts me in my harness and attaches the lead she brings specially for me to use.  Then she opens the door and we’re off…
Down the garden path until we get to the chariot awaiting and Debbie opens the doors and…

YESSSSS *tail wagging*. She’s with Fergus and my mate, Dave - this is a cool gang. Today is going to be FUN!

I jump up into my own spacious crate with soft bedding for the journey and wonder which one of the amazing places we’re going to today...

I lay down and relax.  On warm days there’s a fan inside the chariot that blows on my tummy to cool me down. I like it!

Wait.. I think we’ve arrived…

AWESOME! Debbie has bought us to my favourite place today - Wendover Woods

Once all of the gang are out safely we walk for the first five minutes on our leads.  I’m pretty sure this is mainly to make sure we’re a safe distance from any roads.  I’m well trained of course, and I oblige.
Let the walk and adventure begin…

I am always one of the first off the lead and today Fergus, Dave and I are all off at once!  Sometimes, when Debbie brings a newbie to join in they will spend a little longer on the lead before coming to run with us, and we always help make sure any newbie has fun. But there’s no newbie dog today. We’re off on our two hour adventure…

Times flies because we’re having so much fun!

Sniffing…everywhere…chasing scents…everywhere… Love ‘sniffari’!

Sniffing some more… this is wonderful!

Playing hide & seek with a ball that Debbie hides for us….

Fergus found it today, so I gave him a lick to say well done.

My favourite game is when Debbie finds natural obstacles to practice my Canine Parkour skills… It’s so much fun!

I love Debbie because she also brings treats (Tribal TLC dog food) and plays an awesome game called ‘scatter feed’ by sprinkling treats into long grass or into tree roots and letting us sniff them out.  This is Fergus' favourite game and I’m really good at it too. We all find it really calming.

I just love the time I spend with these guys.  I’m sure Debbie thinks my recall is the quickest she’s ever seen. I do love showing off my training skills and absolutely love coming out with Potter Paws enjoying games and learning new things.

I especially love sitting still and posing for photos. My hooman is always calling me a pretty boy!

Debbie calls us and we head back so she can put our leads on.  This is when we know the adventure is almost over for today and we all head calmly back to our chariot having had the BEST time.

I jump back in and I get my own drinking water so I don’t have to share with slobbery Dave!

Debbie dries me off if I’ve got myself a bit wet and muddy and today is one of those days so Debbie lends me a dry bag for the journey home.

We drive home and I say bye to Fergus and Dave before Debbie takes me back inside my home.  Boy am I tired?! I crawl into my bed after my epic adventure and have puppy dog dreams until my pawrents arrive home from work.

And wait for the adventure to start again tomorrow…

To help with your dog parenting role, we encourage our adventurers to simply chill out with their dog friends and explore together without the need to play constantly.  If you’re a working pawrent interested to learn more about our walks and adventures contact us or click here.
